After reading Hugh's latest on the T-shirts, I checked on the TrackBacks to the posting which sent me to Virtually Shocking, a blog that is about "The life of a Ph.D. student in Cardiac Electrophysiology"
I urge you to go read this guy's post. This is beyond a PhD in image, customer service, branding, man, everything!
After I read it, I was thinking, please don't have this person do any assessment of me if I've got heart trouble as I sense bad to no bedside manner and an attitude that is at best, well, go read this.
The lessons? This stuff is now 'out there' he is building a personal brand. Someday an employer or customer/patient might do the Google thing on em and, well, there he is for all to see. And I'm sure he is not an arrogant ass rather a nice guy, heck even a customer of Hugh. And, yes, I'm drawing totally on one post, twenty lines of English and nothing else.
Exactly what people do to you, your products, etc, etc. That's the world we live in for good or bad.
[Note to Virtually Shocking fans, writers, wife, kids, etc: This is not a shot or insult. I don't know you and probably would like you if I met you. It's just too good of a lesson to let go by, nothing personal, void where prohibited.]

I like to think I'm a nice guy. Hugh really confuses me, though. Somtimes I love him, sometimes I hate him. Read more posts if you want to get a better idea about me. If you follow the link to my livejournal it goes back to my sophomore year of undergrad. It's all there.
Regarding bedside manner -- again, I like to think I'm a decent guy, but I do medical devices, not clinical work. It's all there on my site and blog.

Brock,
Thanks for stopping by. I promise, really REALLY promise, I was making a larger point about all this blog, instant information, snap judgements, etc, etc and, well, I picked on you. See, you're a nice guy, look at that polite (aka restrained) response!

I should add, I met my girlfriend (you can see her on the top photo on the right of my blog, at the moment) via Craigslist, and she and her friends googled me before meeting me. Based on the website and my emails with her I was approved.
The personal branding thing has generally worked in my favor, so far :)
Thanks for your reply. No offense taken -- my original post was kind of harsh. Like I said in my later post, I do find the whole interplay fascinating.
