Tossing the the guy a bone

I’m totally sure I am living in a fantasy world most of the time.  So here is an observation from that world.

Chris Pratley’s Weblog  talks about the next release of OneNote. He is a good writer, good designer, and if you use OneNote, you should read him.

One item caught my eye:

Printed documents: today, you can print a document or PDF or whatever into OneNote using the OneNote ImageWriter PowerToy (thanks Darron!) . OneNote 12 includes its own "OneNote Import Printer Driver" which captures the text of any document that is printed to it, and stores it with the images of the pages you print into OneNote.”

The link he references goes to a total must have power toy for OneNote.

Over on Darron’s site, you will see this comment:

“Although it is all speculation, I fully expect Microsoft to either incorporate the MODI, or similar, virtual printer technology into a future version of OneNote. This driver is provided as a stop-gap measure.

You are a zillion dollar company with the mission Developers, Developers, Developers. You have 1000’s of developers (developers, developers) around the globe paying attention.

Put Steve/Bill or Chris Prately on Stage, show OneNote12 as part of the show, call Darron Devlin on the stage, say thanks for this power toy, and hand the guy a 1000 shares of Microsoft stock for helping the company.

After the applause dies down, Steve Ballmer starts the Developer Developers Developers dance again, with the soon to become famous Scoble laugh blaring in the background.

I’m now returning to earth.
