I usually leave these types of things to Marc Andreessen but he is currently busy beating up Jim Cramer so I'll jump in.
"WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Defense Secretary Robert Gates has formally ordered the Air Force, Navy and Defense Logistics Agency to conduct an inventory of all U.S. nuclear weapons and nuclear weapon-related materials to make sure all items are accounted for, according to a Pentagon memo released Thursday."
I wonder if they'd accept a simple finders keepers.... Full story here.

Inventory on our nukes, what a concept!
Uh, ya mean that isn't the established norm for the most devastating weapons technology on earth? Controlled (I use the term loosely here) by the worlds foremost super power, supossed brain trust and leader of the free world?
So let's see, we are pressing democracy on the rest of the world, yet we can't even count our own votes. Now we are showing what an irresponsible government we have with our nukes, all the while preaching to the other nuke holders and potential nuke developers about nuclear (or nukyaller) abstinence etc.
It's no wonder we look like buffoons to the rest of the world! We look more like ancient Rome every day. Is hope is all we got left now?

Frank, frank, frank.
We can't find the mates to all our SOCKS. Give these people a break. :-)
Personally, I'd be more worried if it was 'informally asked' vs. ordered em to inventory this stuff.
Thank's for stopping by.

Yeh... imagine if this happened in Russia, we'd all be thinking "The world is so unsafe with all these 'loose Russian nukes' floating around".

What happens if they don't find any weapons of mass destruction? Will they invade themselves?
