You’ve probably seen and heard about BumpTop, that really cool app that makes the desktop function like your actual desktop. VentureBeat has a story up where they said something about unnamed source for funding.
Let me help:
- Canadian Company
- University of Toronto Brains
- Growthworks, your friendly Canadian VC firm provided the funding.
Canada: high fives all around!

Thanks, Rick .. You rock!

Thanks Rick! We're proudly Canadian and big hockey fans too. ;)
Also involved are Extreme Venture Partners (http://www.extremevp.com/), Austin Hill, Gerald and Joe Heffernan, Patrick Lor and Ontario Centres of Excellence. And Andy Hertzfeld (he's american, but for him we made an exception).

I downloaded it yesterday, very cool product. I had no idea they were Canadian.

I met Anand at TED where he first presented Bumptop publicly. I was immediately impressed with his passion for his technology and determination to be an entrepreneur and not license his technology to one of the many firms who had approached him.
I was happy to help Anand meet other Canadian entrepreneurs (for instance Patrick Lor) and help him with his angel round as an investor.
Seeing him work with the team from ExtremeVP and GrowthWorks has also been great. Another one of our up & coming entrepreneurs who is well deserving the of the attention his team is getting.

Hi Austin,
I got the word that there were lots of people involved in the financing, etc. Glad to adjust this Blog post when I get back to a computer!
