I'm on the plane back to Toronto right now and a women comes on to the plane carrying a little goodie bag with 'I visited the Microsoft Company Store' on both sides. Nice bag, actually.
As she walks by a lady behind me turns to her seat mate and says:
"They lay people off, make this crappy Vista thing and she wants to brag? I'd hide that crap.."
Ouch.

... and my poor friend paid for it as part of his benefits ... :-)

As an MCSD that I worked dang hard to earn...I feel for that reputation...and the comments from that obviously unhappy bag observer.
That said, I still wear my own MS branded clothing, have one of their watches on a couple of days a week and for the most part, I'm proud to have that cert...and use their software.
YMMV...but hey, we're all diff, eh?

Yes, Jim - my mileage varies greatly.
I'm afraid that in my circles, MS certification is considered a detractor.
Now, Cisco certification - that's something everyone respects. I'm not a networker - so, no, I don't have it.
