« The Secret VC Checklist Revealed | Main | Every Company Needs an Untouchable »

Thanks Rick. As I think more and more about local entrepreneurial ecosystems and what makes them tick, I continues to amaze me how little time VCs put into companies local to them that they aren't investors in. While I'll view Silicon Valley as an outlier situation, it seems like any relatively small geography is a great opportunity for VCs to develop and nurture long term relationships with top flight entrepreneurs by spending time helping them before the VCs invest in their companies. This furthers the local entrepreneurial cycle in so many different ways - in addition to giving the VC a chance to get to know entrepreneurs early in their career so when the entrepreneur is ready for a VC financing, the local VC that has been helping is first in line.
